"You Must Be Born Again"

  1. Introduction John 3:1-12
  2. Rebirth.
    1. I Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
    2. Romans 6:1-23
    3. Romans 7:4-6
      Rom. 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
      Rom. 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
      Rom. 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
    4. Romans 8:1-17
    5. Romans 12:1-2
      Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
      Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
    6. Galatians 2:19-20
      Galatians 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
      Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
    7. Ephesians 4:17-32
    8. Colossians 3:1-17
  3. Babes
    1. I Peter 2:1-2
      I Peter 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings,
      I Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
    2. Mark 10:14-15
      Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
      Mark 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
  4. Grow
    1. I Corinthians 3:1-3
      I Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
      I Corinthians 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
      I Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
    2. Hebrews 5:12-6:3
      Hebrews. 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
      Hebrews. 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
      Hebrews. 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
      Hebrews. 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
      Hebrews. 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
      Hebrews. 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.
    3. Ephesians 4:11-16
      Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
      Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
      Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
      Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
      Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
      Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
    4. II Peter 1:5-11
      II Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
      II Peter 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
      II Peter 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
      II Peter 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
      II Peter 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
      II Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
      II Peter 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
    5. II Peter 3:17-18
      II Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
      II Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
    6. I Corinthians 14:20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
    7. II Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
  5. Works
    1. Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
    2. James 1:22-27
      James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
      James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
      James 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
      James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
      James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
      James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
    3. James 2:14-26
