Take Heed How Ye Build
I Cor. 3:10

1. Introduction
   I Cor. 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
2. Count the Cost Luke 14:28-30
   Luke 14.28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
   Luke 14.29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
   Luke 14.30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

         Matt. 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
         
         Matt. 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
      2. Present Your Body
         Rom. 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
         Rom. 12.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
      3. Bear Your Cross
         Matt. 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
      4. Phil. 2.12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
      5. Heb. 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
3. Shall We be Wise or Foolish Builders?
   1. Wise Matt. 7:24-25
      Matt. 7.24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
      Matt. 7.25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
   2. Foolish Matt. 7:26-27
      Matt. 7.26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
      Matt. 7.27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
4. To be a Wise Builder We Need a Good Plan II Tim. 2:15-17
   II Tim. 3.15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
   II Tim. 3.16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
   II Tim. 3.17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
   
   God's Plan Does Not Need Change Gal. 1:8-9
   Gal. 1.8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
   Gal. 1.9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
5. Jesus is the Foundation for Spiritual Building
   I Cor. 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

6. Use Good Materials
   
   1. Fleshly Materials Forbidden Gal. 5:19-21
      Gal. 5.19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
      Gal. 5.20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
      Gal. 5.21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
   2. Spiritual Materials Gal. 5:22-26
      Gal. 5.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
      Gal. 5.23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
      Gal. 5.24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
      Gal. 5.25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
      Gal. 5.26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

7. Conclusion Nothing Hid from God
   Heb. 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
