Introduction I Thes. 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
Not Render Evil for Evil
1. Resist not evil, Matt. 5:38-48
  Matt. 5.38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
  Matt. 5.39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
  Matt. 5.40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
  Matt. 5.41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
  Matt. 5.42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
  Matt. 5.43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
  Matt. 5.44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
  Matt. 5.45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
  Matt. 5.46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
  Matt. 5.47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
  Matt. 5.48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
2. Love ye your enemies Luke 6:27-38
  Luke 6.27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
  Luke 6.28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
  Luke 6.29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
  Luke 6.30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
  Luke 6.31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
  Luke 6.32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
  Luke 6.33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
  Luke 6.34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
  Luke 6.35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
  Luke 6.36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
  Luke 6.37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
  Luke 6.38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
3. Avenge not yourselves, Rom. 12:17-21
  Rom. 12.17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
  Rom. 12.18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
  Rom. 12.19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
  Rom. 12.20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
  Rom. 12.21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
4. Like Jesus, I Pet. 2:20-25 and I Pet. 3:9
  I Pet. 2.20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
  I Pet. 2.21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
  I Pet. 2.22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
  I Pet. 2.23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
  I Pet. 2.24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
  I Pet. 2.25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
  
  I Pet. 3.9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
EVER FOLLOW THAT WHICH IS GOOD
1. Peace and edification
  1. Rom. 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
  2. Heb. 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
2. Follow after righteousness I Tim. 6:8-11
  I Tim. 6.8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
  I Tim. 6.9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
  I Tim. 6.10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
  I Tim. 6.11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
3. Do good, I Pet. 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
4. Doeth good, of God, III John 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
5. "in the sight of all men." Rom. 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
6. Do good unto all men, Gal. 6:9-10
  Gal. 6.9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
  Gal. 6.10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Conclusion
Eccl. 12.13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Eccl. 12.14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
