  3. The Power of Prayer!
    1. Proof in Scripture
      1. Matthew 7:7-8
        Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
        Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
      2. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  4. Does God Always Listen?
    1. Deuteronomy 1:45 And ye returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you.
    2. Deuteronomy 3:26 But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.
    3. Lamentations 3:8 & 44
      Lamentations 3:8 Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
      Lamentations 3:44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
    4. I Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
  5. Why Doesn't God Listen?
    1. Job 35:12-13
      Job 35:12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
      Job 35:13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
    2. Psalms 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
    3. Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

  6. When Does God Listen?
    1. John 9:31 ...if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
    2. James 1:6-7
      James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
      James 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
    3. 1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
  7. Conclusion
    1. Philippians 4:6-7
      Phi 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
      Phi 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
